Repaving Idlewild

[UPDATE] Work begins Tuesday, July 10th, starting with the ‘milling’ phase, to be followed (we believe) by the tar and chip seal phases.

Idlewild is scheduled to be completely repaved in the coming weeks.  The Kalamazoo County Road Commission has a system in place where if you sign up and indicate your neighborhood, they will send you a weekly construction update so you will know when they are scheduled to come and do this work.   It is called “Road Commission of Kalamazoo County (RCKC) Connect”.  Here is a link:

The Ellenbaases have graciously offered the use of their driveway in the event the road is blocked (north end of Idlewild).  Their gate may be closed but it is not locked.
